A few years ago, I had the privilege of working for a potato processing and packing business. One of the MD's always used to refer to me as his "diamond geezer".

 

One day, a matter arose which resulted in me having to attend his office, so I took the opportunity of why he insisted on calling me his "diamond geezer". It was just a simple mis-understanding of the pronunciation of my surname. He pronounced it as Jewel, when in fact it is Duell.

 

Both words do have something in common, they both end in "el" which in Hebrew translates as God. Jew-el, obviously means precious to God, and as everyone knows the Jewish people are most definitely precious to our Father in Heaven. Whatever the anti-semitists might think or say.

 

Duell, in the Torah, (Pentateuch, Books of the Law of Moses) there is reference to a Deuel, which again in Hebrew means, "known of God".

OK, I cocede that the spelling is slightly different. However, what it constantly reminds me of is this. To "duel" is to combat between two people, or in this case two forces. The forces of God(Light) and the forces of the prince of darkness.

 

Brother, Sister, which force are you fighting for today?

During the confirmation process of this ministry, Almighty God promised me, "It won't be easy!", and as if to make a point He took me back to a village where I once lived, there, there resides a stone mason, Bill, the stone mason showed me some works which he had completed and they were works of art, and in my eyes they looked flawless. And the message at the time was this, "You are working with people with hearts of stone, you just have to keep chipping away, until they get the message."

 

On the Sabbath of 28th June, the point was reinforced, God used a starling to do it, we had just read some of the readings for the day, when we heard an almighty bang on the brick wall of our house, now we are used to collared doves crashing into the windows, but this was a completely different sound, so we had to investigate. It was a starling, and judging by the crash, it should never have survived the collision, indeed we thought it hadn't as it lay comotose on the roof of the Garden room. I went inside to get the steps to remove the starling from the roof, but returned to see him standing up (recovered) and a few minutes later he flew off, none the worse for his ordeal. The message this time was, "Yes, it will be like banging your head against a brick wall, but - you must not give up!"

 

If Almighty God has given you a job to do, never give up, and don't be afraid to ask for His help either.

I was sitting in the summerhouse, relaxing, as you do, when you've just moved a weather station and done a little digging, when the birds, blackbirds, finches, collared doves, started congregating in the garden, only natural really when you consider there are all sorts of tempting delights for them hanging from the trees and bushes. Have you ever watched birds closely in these situations? It doesn't matter how intent or frenzied their feeding, they are always on the lookout for the predator, for whatever they percieve to be an enemy which could and would drastically shorten their lifespan. No matter what shape it may come as - a cat, a bird of prey, a man with a net or a gun.

I was thinking, it is a pity more of us Christians don't have this ability to keep an eye out for the adversary, who also comes in many guises, sometimes even professing to be a believer in Christ, and like the Apostle Paul says about different gospels being taught, we need more than ever today in this 21st century to be awake and alert to false teaching, especially in the denominational churches, and not only those, but any church which takes a verse or a word from the Holy Bible and takes it out of context.

So, reader, please, please, be aware, there are many varieties of so called Christianity out there, if you have been looking and searching for one that suits your taste, check the teaching with what the Bible says, and see how it compares.

If you are new to the faith, please pray that Almighty God will open the eyes of your heart, so that He may reveal the Truth to you. 

There is only One God, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever. And He is the God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, and the Father of Our Lord Jesus(Y'shua) the Christ.

The adversary doesn't need an invite into your heart or your life, he will find the smallest crack in your armour and push his way in, whether it be doubt, unbelief, comments from friends, he will try and keep trying.

Remain alert, and as you feed on the Word of God, remember to pray and keep an eye open for the adversary, or he just may devour you.

Not only are there things that He (Hashem) hates, but He is also a jealous God. We here in the western world have been mislead into believing for instance that our calendar is a Christian calendar because perhaps it is named after Pope Gregory. Why would this make Hashem jealous? For the very simple reason, three of the days are named after the Sun, the Moon, and Saturn, and worst of all the other four are named after pagan gods. thereby when ever we say what day it is we are glorifying a particular pagan god or a particular star or planet. In the Holy Bible, God named the days, Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and so on, up to the seventh day which is called the Sabbath. These calendars have been around a long time now, as Christians we need to get into the habit of instant translation, ie, when we learn a new language, our brain is capable of changing the newly learnt word into our native language, or vice versa, instantly. So when we see the days of the week, we need to translate them into God's days, ie, when you see Monday, recognise it as Day 2, Thursday as Day 5, etc.

May our God who created the Heavens and the Earth, bless you this day, Amen and Amen
